Cathy Albergo: Bio

Cathy Albergo, a curricular expert in the field of piano pedagogy, has contributed numerous articles to professional keyboard journals, and for many years was co-publisher and editor for Keyboard Companion magazine. Cathy Albergo is Chair of the Music Department at William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. She specializes in the training of pianists of all ages and established the Harper Music Academy, which enrolls students ranging from pre-school through retirement age.

Past President of the Illinois State Music Teacher's Association, Cathy Albergo has also served as the National Certification Chair of the Music Teacher's National Association. She is a co-author of Intermediate Piano Repertoire: A Guide for Teachers and Celebration Series,The Piano Odyssey, Handbook for Teachers published by the Frederick Harris Music Company. Most recently, she has collaborated with Mark Mrozinski and J. Mitzi Kolar to write Celebrate Piano!, a beginning piano method.
