David Carr Glover Biography:

David Carr Glover (1925 - 1988) teacher, composer, editor and lecturer, is noted for his published piano educational materials as well as his many successful organ publications.  His lectures and demonstrations have included the Walt Disney Studios and the Rose Room of Carnegie Hall.  He has lectured at many Universities and Colleges as well as leading music stores throughout the country.

Mr. Glover was a student at the Bristow Hardin School of Music where he studied piano, counterpoint, conducting, theory, composition, and ensemble performance.  While at this School he was a private piano student of Bristow Hardin.  He later studied with Guy Maier and Hans Barth.

Mr. Glover has been the President-Director of the Glover School of Music for over twenty-seven years.  In 1970 the music school merged with the Glover Center of Music, a retail store located in Portsmouth, Virginia.

The "On Location Workshop" sponsored by his school during the first week of August each year, has become an event attended by teachers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

He has been Organ Editor for the School Musician magazine, contributing piano reviewer for the American Music Teacher magazine, founder and president of the Tidewater Music Teachers Forum, and has served as consultant and editor for many leading music publishers.

He was a member of the American Guild of Organists, Music Teachers National Association, Virginia Music Teachers Association, American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, the Music Educator's National Conference, the Maier Musical Association, National Association of Organ Teachers, National Guild of Piano Teachers, and the Organ and Piano Teachers Association.
